We spent time reading about Abe Lincoln and George Washington. We learned many facts about these two great past Presidents. We know about the wars they fought, what they did for a living , and why we celebrate them. We counted stars on many different flags to find out that when our country began there were 13 stars, followed later by 34 when Lincoln was President, and ending today with our 50 stars. (Alaska and Hawaii were our last added states.) We can name the four presidents carved at Mt. Rushmore-Washington, Jefferson, T. Roosevelt, and Lincoln. We also know the difference between a Civil and Revolutionary War and which President fought which kind of war and why it was important to our Country’s history. We are happy to be citizen’s of The United States of America and proudly made a Washington tri-corn hat and a Lincoln penny poem to celebrate these two important leaders from our past. God bless America!
